Liverpool Acoustic are pleased to announce a rather special song release with all sales going towards raising money and awareness for the homeless.
The song was written by local singer songwriter John Jenkins, who was inspired by the We Shall Overcome events of October 2015 in raising money for the homeless.
“I was attending an event in which everyone at the end of the show joined in to the Pete Seeger song “We Shall Overcome”. I was overcome by the sentiment of the events and the song and thought I wish I could have written a song like that”. I had a go and came up with this song and then thought wouldn’t it be nice to ask a few people to sing on it, a kind of “Scouse Live Aid” sprung to mind”
So he did, and asked people that are in the main associated with “Liverpool Acoustic” and the response was over whelming to the request with 19 musicians and singers giving up their time to partake.

On this occasion the chosen charity is The Whitechapel Centre who in their words “are open 365 days a year providing a service to rough sleepers, people living in temporary accommodation and those at risk of becoming homeless. Last year, 2,605 people came to our door”
