SOMEDAY WE'LL SEE BETTER DAYS Don’t believe what they tell you Don’t believe what they say Someday we’ll see better days Have some faith in this world Have some faith in yourself Someday we’ll see the way Chorus 1 Though this world marches on with an uncaring speed With little thought of those in need And it’s easy to doubt, never easy to believe I swear we’ll see better days Someday we’ll see better days There’s a man with a boy In his arms on a beach The whole world can see his pain And we look to each other To finger the blame Who’s right who’s wrong? Who’ll explain? Chorus 2 And this world seems so cold Run for profit or with greed Politicians drag their feet, do they care? And it’s easy to doubt Never easy to believe With hope, compassion and faith Someday we’ll see better days Middle 8 So let’s look to the future And learn from the past Let’s care for each other And make something that will last Offer no excuses Make right the wrongs Lead by example Together we can be so strong Instrumental Verse Repeat Chorus 1

about

Liverpool Acoustic are pleased to announce a rather special song release with all sales going towards raising money and awareness for the homeless.

The song was written by local singer songwriter John Jenkins, who was inspired by the We Shall Overcome events of October 2015 in raising money for the homeless.

“I was attending an event in which everyone at the end of the show joined in to the Pete Seeger song “We Shall Overcome”. I was overcome by the sentiment of the events and the song and thought I wish I could have written a song like that”. I had a go and came up with this song and then thought wouldn’t it be nice to ask a few people to sing on it, a kind of “Scouse Live Aid” sprung to mind”

So he did, and asked people that are in the main associated with “Liverpool Acoustic” and the response was over whelming to the request with 19 musicians and singers giving up their time to partake.
Just check this roll call:-

Ian Prowse, Robert Vincent, Vanessa Murray, Denis Parkinson, Mary McCombs, Natalie James, Maria Silker, Stuart Todd, Derek King, Barry Jones, Paul Dunbar, John Jenkins, David Nixon, Laura McLain, Alan O’Hare, Kevin Critchley, Emma Dos Santos Rodriquez, Jade Tremarco and Jo Bywater.

To add to the list we have Jon Lawton who co-produced the song with John and played most of the instruments at his Crosstown Studios.

If anyone wants a copy the song will be available from the Liverpool Acoustic web site.

We have fixed a price at £1 but if you want to donate more feel free as all money will be going to the worthwhile cause. There will be a limited run of physical cd’s available at Liverpool Acoustic Events in due course.

On this occasion the chosen charity is The Whitechapel Centre who in their words “are open 365 days a year providing a service to rough sleepers, people living in temporary accommodation and those at risk of becoming homeless. Last year, 2,605 people came to our door”
